Hoping for an encore of Mirage, Assassin's Creed fans rally for more stealth-focused gameplay, this time as they prepare to step foot in Japan through Assassin's Creed Red.

Mirage Crazed Fans Plead for Stealth in 'Assassin's Creed Red'

Not even 24 hours past the launch of Assassin's Creed Mirage, fans are already beating the drum for more of its stealth-centric gameplay in the pipeline Assassin's Creed Red.

One passionate user, Turul9, took to the series subreddit crafting a masterful plea to the gaming gods: “Dear Ubi, Please let Bordeaux build another sneaky AC game with a hefty budget, full price commitment.” They praised Mirage’s new and improved parkour - a nostalgic throwback to the earlier Assassin's Creed games while acknowledging the limitations of Mirage due to its initial conception as a DLC to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Another zealous fan claimed, "Mirage is the pioneer of making stealth indispensable," citing the non-stop battering from enemy guards after our hero Basim is spotted. A sentiment echoed in our very own Assassin's Creed Mirage review.

The Mirage-induced tunnel vision doesn't end there. The same anticipation got fans eyeing the forthcoming Assassin’s Creed chapter - the much-anticipated Assassin’s Creed Red. It marks Ubisoft's exciting venture into the exotic landscape of Japan. As one Redditor, pope_fox, pointed out, "Project Red and future AC games can mimic this stealth level," praising the Mirage’s stealth mechanics as "intricate, yet effortless to pick up."

He continued, “The stealth system needs to be cloned into Red, or I'll be majorly upset,” illustrating his enthusiasm to see this play style integrated into the Japanese backdrop. “The blueprints are laid to develop this stealth system into something fun and impactful,” he concluded.

Ubisoft has been somewhat tight-lipped about their thrilling venture into the Land of the Rising Sun, describing it only as “the future of our open-world RPG games on Assassin’s Creed.” Indications suggest that it might share a common thread with Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla more than Mirage. One thing for sure, fans hope, is the covert operations slipped into the mix.

The suspense on Assassin’s Creed Red may not drag as long as initially thought. A recent Ubisoft staff shared, Assassin’s Creed Red is readying up to be the “biggest blockbuster for 2024.” The assurance that Ubisoft Quebec has relied on Japanese consultants for cultural sensitivity sets the stage ready for the anticipated stealth series.
