Naughty Dog's dev accidentally dribbles out the secret sauce about "The Last of Us 2: Remastered" game, resulting in delighted uproars among gaming enthusiasts.

The Last of Us 2: Remastering Secrets Spilled

Brace yourselves for a wild rumor drive-by because this news nugget is as juicy as a summer peach. Apparently, The Last of Us 2 is getting a fancy new wardrobe with a 'Remastered' tag pinned on, or so it was, perhaps unintentionally, revealed by a prancing pony from the Naughty Dog dev stable.

It was like a bit of a gaming gold rush when @DomTheBombYT on Twitter stumbled upon the golden nugget. A certain Mark Pajarillo, who happens to be the Lead Outsource Artist at Naughty Dog, nonchalantly updated his LinkedIn in a way that suggested he's been primping and preening the Last of Us 2 for a renewed catwalk debut.

Our Mr. Pajarillo casually dropped: “overseeing the production of all outsourced environment art assets, weapons and interactive props for two iconic titles The Last of Us: Part One and The Last of Us 2: Remastered". “Remastered”, you say? Well, this pretty much says it all, unless Mark is a fan of random office pranks.

Interestingly though, this is not the first time we've sniffed around a remaster whiff. Earlier this year, Gustavo Santaolalla - the tunesmith who whipped up a soundstorm for both The Last of Us and The Last of Us 2 - seemed to suggest that he's been in the studio, strumming it up for a "new edition" of the game. His character in the revised version is said to even serenade players with requested songs. Talk about a melodious twist to the apocalypse!

Although, it does raise an eyebrow, or two, as to why Naughty Dog feels the need to offer a fresh lick of paint to The Last of Us 2, which is still a fairly new kid in the gaming block, having launched in 2020. However, with PS5 strolling into town after the sequel's release, perhaps this is Naughty Dog's effort to ensure the game fits into the next-gen fraternity amidst it's oh-so-fancy peers.

It's no secret the Naughty Dog squad is currently tinkering with a few projects. These include a shiny new single-player game and, a potentially 'chilling' development, The Last of Us multiplayer game. Although, a recent flurry of rumors suggest the multiplayer venture might be in a 'Frozen' state (Insert Elsa joke here), owing to an alleged spree of layoffs at Naughty Dog.

So, while we all lean back and snack on popcorn awaiting official deets on the remastered gem, might as well make the most of our eager anticipation with the thrilling list of upcoming PS5 games. Never a dull day in the gaming world, is there?
