Pac-Man is back to chomp his way into the battle royale realm! Watch out competitors, this iconic game icon is ready to chow down in Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs.

Pac-Man may be used to eating ghosts, but now he's gobbling up all the attention in the battle royale genre. You may remember Pac-Man 99 (may it rest in peace), but Bandai Namco is going in for the kill again in the battle royale world with their latest offering, Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs. Scheduled to hit Nintendo Switch in early 2024, single-player fans might want to switch off now – this one’s an all-out, online multiplayer chomp-fest.

If you are feeling a bit of déjà vu, that's because Chomp Champs is an expanded version of the Google Stadia release, Pac-Man: Mega Tunnel Battle. Following Stadia's quiet footstep out of the door in 2023, it seemed only fitting for Pac-Man to seek a new mazey home.

So whats the deal with this new version? Put simply, you munch your way through labyrinthine mazes to reach the glittering title of 'Chomp Champ' - the last PAC standing after a brutal 64-player showdown.

The base ingredients of Pac-Man we all know and love are still very much present – swirling ghosts, power pellets and the occasional piece of retro fruit. However, they are seasoned with some new tricks. Power Items can grant PAC-MAN abilities such as hyper-speed or personal shields, offering players a strategic edge to outsmart their rivals.

What's even better is that if you're feeling particularly malicious, you can sic the ghosts on your competitors with aid of Power Items. In this game, it's not just dots you're eating anymore. The most daring players can now take a chomp out of other player's PAC-MAN characters, because why stop at only haunting your foes?

As well as impressing others with your munching skills, you can also put your unique fashion flair on display by personalizing your PAC's body, head, and face with a smorgasbord of available accessories. Becoming the Chomp Champ is only half the fun; you have to look the part too!
