Darksiders 2 Gets Free Upgrade for Xbox Series X|S

In an exciting update for fans of the action-RPG genre, THQ Nordic has revealed that Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition will be receiving a free upgrade for the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles. This well-received 2015 title is set to become even more spectacular with a host of visual and performance enhancements implemented to leverage the powerful hardware of the latest Xbox consoles.

For those unfamiliar, Darksiders 2 follows the character Death, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, on his quest to clear his brother War's name. Along this journey, Death uncovers plots that could end all of Creation, providing a narrative that is both expansive and engaging. The game combines fast-paced combat with intricate puzzle-solving and exploration, offering a rich and varied gameplay experience.

The upgrade, which will automatically apply to existing owners of the game on Xbox One through Smart Delivery, introduces several key enhancements. Among the most striking are the visual upgrades; the game will now support 4K resolution, ensuring crisper and more detailed graphics. Furthermore, with the addition of ray tracing technology, players can expect more realistic lighting and shadow effects, enriching the overall visual fidelity and immersion.

In addition to visual improvements, the remastered edition will leverage the high-speed SSDs of the Xbox Series X|S to offer drastically reduced loading times. This means less waiting and more seamless gameplay, allowing players to dive into the action more quickly.
