NCSOFT announces the early access launch of Battle Crush, a hybrid MOBA and Battle Royale game for Switch, featuring cross-play with other platforms.

Battle Crush Launches on Switch in Early Access

The gaming landscape is set to expand with the introduction of Battle Crush by NCSOFT, scheduled for an early access release on the Nintendo Switch on June 27. This new game presents a unique blend of genres, combining the strategic combat of MOBAs (Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas) with the expansive, last-player-standing thrills of a battle royale, and the close-quarters combat of a brawl game. Marketed as a “MOBA + Battle Royale + Brawl” hybrid, Battle Crush aims to offer a dynamic and engaging multiplayer experience.

At the heart of Battle Crush are the characters known as Calixers—playable champions who range from gods to mythological creatures, along with various legends pulled from urban folklore. Players can choose from these characters, each equipped with unique action skills inspired by mythical stories, to compete in the game’s arenas. These battlefields are designed to shrink over time, increasing the intensity and forcing confrontations amongst players.

Battle Crush will support matches of up to 30 players across its various play modes. This feature ensures a broad, engaging, and constantly changing competitive environment, where every game feels like a new challenge. Moreover, to cater to a wide audience, NCSOFT has enabled cross-play functionality for Battle Crush. This allows Switch players to compete seamlessly against users on the Steam, Google Play, and Apple App Store versions.

In terms of promotional activity, NCSOFT is gearing up to increase the visibility of Battle Crush by releasing a new trailer at the upcoming Summer Game Fest 2024. This marketing push will likely include more detailed showcases of gameplay, character options, and the different modes available to players.

For those eager to get involved as soon as possible, pre-registration for Battle Crush is available through the official game website. By signing up early, players can secure a rewards bundle ready for them at launch. Additionally, specific incentives such as an exclusive Freyja weapon skin are being offered to those who pre-register through the official website, adding an extra layer of excitement and exclusivity to the pre-launch activities.

Despite the saturated market of free-to-play games, Battle Crush aims to distinguish itself through its high-energy gameplay and vibrant aesthetic. The game’s developers promise a competitive yet fun atmosphere filled with strategic depth, accessible to both newcomers and veteran gamers alike.

As the release date approaches, potential players and gaming enthusiasts will be keen to see how Battle Column stands out in a crowded genre. The success of this early access launch could pave the way for a new favorite among MOBA and battle royale fans, delivering on its promise of intense, mythologically inspired combat and strategic gameplay. Check out the Season 1 cinematic trailer for a taste of the action to expect and stay tuned for more updates as they come.
