The voice actor for Astarion in the hit RPG Baldur's Gate 3 was reportedly given some rather unique direction - to only be "slightly horny".

Baldur's Gate 3 Actor Told: Tone Down Horny Mode!

Get ready, it's going to get a little steamy in here - we're talking about Baldur's Gate 3 and its vocal performances. One explorer of the RPG managed to stumble upon some gold - the game developer's notes for specific scenes, including the grand romantic finale of Astarion. And boy, the Internet is having a chuckle over it!

According to the uncovered devnote, actor Neil Newbon, who voices character Astarion, was gently requested to dial down his character's seductiveness, acting "ONLY SLIGHTLY" lustful in that particular scene. Now, that's what you call thematic direction! "Slightly horny" - such rich subtext for any character actor. Newbon really cranks up the drama for the vampiric Astarion, pouring his soul into the role and making the character an absolute delight (even though he unknowingly destroyed his own character during a stream).

It's a fun remembrance that initially Baldur's Gate 3's digital comrades were a bit more flirty than intended. Yes, you read that right. Right after the game's PC launch in August, Larian Studios revealed that all characters continually tossing themselves at your character was actually a bug, making everybody seem way too interested.

However, another juicy, Astarion-linked finding awaits. Within a graveyard scene featuring Astarion, a hard-to-spot gravestone supposedly discloses his age - a sprightly 239! The gravestone might not be visible to players themselves, hence why this tantalizing tidbit remained hidden.

Moreover, the devnotes spill that Astarion has a soft side, particularly for his canine friend, Scratch. If you toss Scratch's ball in the camp when the dog's not around, Astarion expresses his relief with a gruff "Good riddance to the dog. Who'd miss that waggy little tail..." But, the devnote that accompanies this dismissive comment reads "pretending not to be sad and failing," revealing that Astarion has a tender spot for Scratch.

So, whether you're exploring graves or struggling to strike the perfect balance between lustful and non-lustful voice performances, Baldur's Gate 3 leads the pack. This latest revelation about Astarion continues to add layers of depth to an already engrossing game. And, for those looking for sparks to fly, we'd suggest you keep an eye on our Baldur's Gate 3 romances guide! Happy gaming, with only a 'slight' intensity of horniness, guaranteed!

Phew, aren’t video games red hot – figuratively and (moderately) literally?
