Vincent D'Onofrio sashays into the Marvel drama with a winning smile and whimsical wisdom, defending the creative shuffle behind the scenes of new Daredevil series.

Daredevil Axings Get D'Onofrio's Daredevilish Defense

Donning his Daredevil mask once again, not to fight crime but to parry the pouting public, Vincent D'Onofrio rode to the rescue, not in the gritty New York streets, but over the not-so-mean tweets. A sort of Shakespeare of the superhero universe, he delivered his sonnet over Twitter, gracefully responding to Marvel's decision for a creative team reshuffle in the new Daredevil series.

D'Onofrio put it rather eloquently, "Every hip project I've been tangled up with has done the jitterbug during pre-production, production, and post-production. Y'all just gasp about it like it's the tea of the century, when it is, in reality, the regular rumba in our line of work. Cue the violins, but it's just a band of artists trying to hit that sweet spot. Can't imagine a world without it; kinda concerning if we kicked back and called it a day. We're going for gold here - attempting to spin out the finest yarn we can. Put some faith in this crazy business, buddy."

In case you've been living under a rock, this whole ruckus started with Marvel giving their writers and directors for Daredevil: Born Again the ol' heave-ho during the mid-June WGA strike powwow. Marvel bosses, including our very own Kevin Feige, gave the gavel's swing after watching the footage and deciding that "the show just wasn't hitting the bullseye." They were barely nine arrows in for an 18-episode quiver. But cheer up, Darlings, our dear Charlie Cox only pulls out his Daredevil suit in episode 4!

D'Onofrio, aka our resident bad ass, Wilson Fisk, reprises the role in the tragically overlooked Disney Plus series Hawkeye. He’s back on the saddle as the big baddie for Disney Plus's Born Again, with almost all the leading line-up making a comeback from the original series. And fret not, devout Daredevil fans – Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Hensen, aka Karen and Foggy, have also been invited to this villainous party.

Sadly, all this kerfuffle means that Daredevil: Born Again won't likely make its debut till 2025 or PV (post-virus) times. Meanwhile, why not enjoy the barrage of best new TV shows heading your way in 2023 and beyond? Get some popcorn, kick back, and remember; the best shows always make it right in the end.

Nothing beats unwinding with some Call of Duty action or diving into platformer games. It's all about balance, right? Pixels by day, platforms by night!
