Digital Foundry analyzes the performance of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on the older Xbox One consoles noting significant differences between models.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Performance on Xbox One

The release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on last-generation consoles like the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 has prompted a detailed inspection by Digital Foundry, a group known for its expert technical analysis of gaming hardware and software. This latest role-playing game has stirred plenty of anticipation, leading to an eagerness among players and critics alike to see how well the game would perform on older console models.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which follows the adventures in a galaxy far, far away, was released on these older consoles despite their less powerful hardware compared to the latest generation. This decision by the developers led to mixed performance outcomes, particularly distinguishing the experience between the Xbox One S and Xbox One X variations.

According to Digital Foundry, the Xbox One S version of the game struggles considerably, making it the least recommended way to experience the game on console platforms. The tech reviewers pointed out that while the game manages to run at a base frame rate of 30 frames per second (FPS), it does so inconsistently, particularly in cutscenes where the frame rate could drop significantly lower. These drops are accompanied by other graphical issues such as screen tearing and frame pacing problems. The challenges are most apparent when rendering broad city views, where the console fails to maintain stable performance, leading to hitching – a noticeable lag that can disrupt gameplay.
