Square Enix announces new SaGa series installment with character trailers and an immersive world, ready to hit the Nintendo Switch in April 2024.

SaGa Emerald Beyond Set for April 2024 Switch Release

The world of role-playing games (RPGs) is set to witness the release of another promising title with the announcement of "SaGa Emerald Beyond," slated to make its way onto the Nintendo Switch console on April 25th, 2024. This news comes as a part of Square Enix's vibrant display at the SaGa Glimmerfest 2023 livestream, an event held to commemorate the enduring SaGa series' 35th anniversary.

Marking its significance, Square Enix not only announced the release date but also introduced fans to two new pivotal characters through captivating trailers. The first character, Tsunanori Mido, is showcased as a man of considerable ability and guardian of his city's barriers. His uniqueness stems from his power to control 'kugutsu,' which are autonomous puppets imbued with a will of their own. He hails from a venerable lineage within the Mido family, renowned in Miyako City, depicted as a world where traditional urban roads radiate from the central landmark of Gokakudo Temple.

Tsunanori's backstory is rich and finely woven into the tapestry of the game’s expansive universe. Post a cataclysmic war that left both societal structures and spiritual orders in disarray, Miyako City has become a hotbed of supernatural disturbances. Amidst this chaos, Tsunanori finds himself as the chosen one for the Cathedral Project, an ambitious endeavor to explore various worlds and restore balance to the spiritual domain. Through his journey across these diverse landscapes, he is tasked with the mission to discover four elemental spirits essential to his quest.
