WayForward, a notable video game developer, recently announced an exciting update for their popular game, River City Girls 2. Scheduled for release on November 12, 2024, the game will receive a free DLC update that includes characters from the classic arcade game Double Dragon. This update reflects WayForward's commitment to keeping their games fresh and engaging for players.
River City Girls 2, a side-scrolling beat 'em up, allows players to battle through various enemies in a vibrant, animated world. The free DLC update will introduce Billy and Jimmy Lee, the protagonist brothers from the 1987 hit game Double Dragon, as playable characters. Each character comes with their unique fighting style and signature moves, such as the spinning cyclone kick and rising knee, enhancing the game’s combat system.
The inclusion of these iconic characters is more than just an addition to the roster; Billy and Jimmy Lee will be fully integrated into the story mode of River City Girls 2. They will have full voice acting provided by Dan Avidan and Arin Hanson, both members of the popular YouTube channel Game Grumps, lending their well-known voices to bring these characters to life.
Alongside the characters, the DLC update introduces new game features. Players can explore two new shops and equip their characters with new accessories, enriching the customization options available in the game. A specially themed motion comic in the style of Double Dragon will enhance the storytelling aspect, providing deeper insight into the narrative.
