Veteran developer from World of Warcraft and League of Legends, Greg Street, introduces new project 'Ghost,' a fresh take on the fantasy MMO genre from his new studio Fantastic Pixel Castle.

Ghostcrawler Releases 'Ghost,' a Novel Fantasy MMO Game

World-renowned developer Greg 'Ghostcrawler' Street, known for his notable work on the iconic games World of Warcraft and League of Legends, revealed his latest project - an ambitious Fantasy Massively Multiplayer Online game (MMO) titled 'Ghost'. This announcement was made official through a press release received today, which reports that he has brought together a new studio, the Fantastic Pixel Castle, to work on this venture.

This new unveiling, 'Ghost', is a triple-A MMO game, promising players an immersive experience in a fresh, unexplored fantasy universe. The developers have further teased fans by providing a sneak peek into this new universe with an announcement trailer and conceptual art that gives us a glimpse into the world of 'Ghost'.

Street's remarkable career started as a lead systems designer on the universally popular World of Warcraft and later branched out to becoming the head of creative development for Riot Games, a pioneering studio behind League of Legends. During his tenure at Riot, he spearheaded the development of the LoL MMO. His departure from Riot occurred earlier this year in March and a month later, he made public his plans to start a new MMO studio.

In the newly released trailer, Street formally introduces his new team, the Fantastic Pixel Castle, and declares their plan to create an incredible new MMO. He admits that their project is still at an early stage of development but believes in including the community from the early stages. To initiate this two-way engagement, a livestream has been scheduled for the coming week where audiences will get first-string details about the project. It was specified that no game-play will be showcased during the livestream, but audiences can look forward to a deeper understanding of the studio's philosophies.

In the press release, Street remarks on the demands and complexity of developing an MMO, stating it to be one of the toughest genres. But he maintains an optimistic outlook, believing that the small team working remotely will be advantageous for the project. Strengthening this optimism, the team has secured a publishing deal with the Chinese behemoth, NetEase, announced on the same day.

While it's still early days, the anticipation for what 'Ghost' might offer starts to build. Will 'Ghost' cement its place among the best MMORPGs in the gaming universe or will it be another wannabe? Only time can answer this. Until then, we eagerly wait for further updates for the overture of a new era in fantasy MMO gaming.

Nothing beats unwinding with some Call of Duty action or diving into platformer games. It's all about balance, right? Pixels by day, platforms by night!
