The latest Pokémon GO season introduces Galarian starters, exclusive encounters, and a new battle format with 'Max Battles', dedicated exclusively to UK players for a limited time.

Pokémon GO Launches New 'Max Out' Season

The latest season of Pokémon GO began today, infusing the game with fresh excitement and features that promise to enhance the gameplay experience for trainers worldwide. Labeled the ‘Max Out’ season, it introduces a range of new Pokémon from the Galar region, including the highly anticipated starters from Pokémon Sword and Shield—Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble. These beloved characters, along with their evolutionary forms and the Dreepy evolution chain, are making their first appearance in Pokémon GO, much to the delight of Generation VIII enthusiasts.

For trainers located in the UK, there's an extra treat. They have the exclusive opportunity to encounter Stonjourner, a Pokémon inspired by Stone Henge, marking its debut in Pokémon GO. Currently, this encounter is region-locked, which means players outside the UK will need to wait for future updates, possibly through Raids or special trades, to get their hands on Stonjourner.

This season isn’t just about new Pokémon; there’s also an exciting addition to the battle system. Named 'Max Battles', this new feature allows players to engage with giant 'Dynamax Pokémon'. Familiar faces like Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Skwovet, and Wooloo will appear in their Dynamax forms. Players must seek out Power Spots scattered across the game map, where Max Particles will trigger these special battles, adding a layer of strategy and challenge to the gameplay.

Apart from these thrilling encounters and battles, the 'Max Out' season is enriched with a series of Special Research quests. These quests are centered around the newly introduced Galarian Pokémon and the Max Battle format, providing players with goals and rewards tailored to the season’s theme.

Running from September 3rd to December 3rd, the ‘Max Out’ season ensures that players have ample time to dive into all the new content.
