New Wolf Fang Kuuga 2001 Model Now Available for Pre-Order

The world of mech enthusiasts and fans of the classic arcade game Wolf Fang Kuuga 2002 is in for a treat as a new model has been announced by the Japanese manufacturer PLUM. Known as Type01 Soryu, this model brings nostalgia and excitement to fans of the game, which was originally released in arcades in 1991 by Data East under the name Rohga: Armor Force.

Wolf Fang Kuuga 2001 is part of a loose trilogy that started with the 1989 game Kuuga – Operation Code Vapor Trail, commonly known as Vapor Trail: Hyper Offence Formation, and was followed by the 1996 title Skull Fang. The game is renowned for its intense side-scrolling stages where players take control of one of four customizable mechs, navigating through a series of challenges and enemies. The immense popularity of the game led to its subsequent ports to the PlayStation and Sega Saturn in 1996 and 1997, respectively.

The new Type01 Soryu model embodies the spirit of the game with its detailed and faithful design. Coming in a 1/35 scale, the figure stands approximately 5 inches tall. It is not just a static model but includes three custom parts and a handheld weapon, adding a layer of interactivity and personalization for collectors. These parts are designed to be interchangeable with forthcoming kits based on other mechs from the game, including "Tenrai," "Rasetsu," and "Ryu-Oh," which PLUM has hinted will be released in the future.

Priced at ¥6,050 (approximately $38 or £30), the model is reasonably priced, making it accessible to a wide range of collectors and fans. Enthusiasts can place their pre-orders through PLUM's official online store, where they can also view more detailed images of the model. According to PLUM, the model is slated for release in October. This launch aligns with the release of the 'Saturn Tribute Boosted' versions of both Wolf Fang and Skull Fang, enhancing the overall excitement for fans of the game series. These new versions are expected to be available on modern gaming platforms including PS4, PS5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC, offering a refreshed experience of these classic games.

In addition to ensuring that fans of the Wolf Fang series can relive their favorite gaming moments through both interactive models and updated game releases, PLUM's initiative reflects a broader trend of blending nostalgic gaming experiences with contemporary tech and collectibles. This blend not only celebrates the history and culture of video gaming but also bridges generational gaps among gamers.

Moreover, this release exemplifies PLUM’s commitment to high-quality collectibles and its dedication to satisfying the demands of fans and collectors alike. By providing highly detailed models and promising further releases, PLUM is establishing a strong connection with its customer base, ensuring that fans can continue to enjoy their favorite games in new and exciting ways.

As the release date approaches, anticipation continues to build. Fans of the original game and newcomers alike are eager to check out the new models and upcoming game releases, ready to dive into the world of Wolf Fang Kuuga 2001 once again. Whether it's through playing the boosted versions of the classic games or assembling and showcasing the new models, there’s no doubt that the adventures of Wolf Fang will continue to captivate and thrill for years to come.
