Nightdive Studios partners with Ziggurat Interactive to deliver a remastered version of the classic '90s comedy horror game Killing Time, set for release on Nintendo Switch.

Killing Time: Resurrected Announced for Nintendo Switch

In an exciting reveal that confirms ongoing speculation about its new ventures, Nightdive Studios, in collaboration with Ziggurat Interactive, has announced an upcoming project, breathing life into a classic from the 1990s. Dubbed Killing Time: Resurrected, this game revitalizes a beloved comedic horror shooter, promising nostalgia mixed with modern enhancements tailored for current gaming audiences. Contrary to prior buzz suggesting that a remaster of The Thing could be next in line, it appears this iconic horror remake has been queued as a subsequent endeavor.

Killing Time: Resurrected will mark its debut on the Nintendo Switch later this year, featuring a host of revamped elements that are bound to excite both new players and those familiar with its original release. This title originally launched on the 3DO platform and was later ported to Windows and Mac. Today, over a quarter-century later, it is being reintroduced with enhanced features that cater to the advancements in gaming technology and player expectations.

The game is set in a sprawling mansion that oozes a distinctly eerie ambiance, appropriate for its horror roots. Players will navigate through this vast estate, tackling a plethora of supernatural horrors. The central objective revolves around locating and dismantling the mystical Egyptian Water-Clock, a task fraught with danger and spookiness. Killing Time is not just a straightforward shooter; it intertwines elements of mystery and narrative-driven exploration, making it a unique blend in its genre.

Some of the standout features of the remastered version include:

- Enhanced Visuals: Players can now experience the game in a completely immersive 360-degree environment, with meticulously detailed graphics that include expansive outdoor areas, as well as complex staircases and richly decorated ceilings and floors.

- Updated Gameplay: The controls have been significantly improved to provide a smooth and responsive gaming experience, and the gameplay flows seamlessly with no load times between different areas of the mansion.

- Atmospheric Audio: The original soundtrack has been retained, adding to the overall eerie and inviting atmosphere of the mansion. Each room and corridor is laden with auditory cues and musical themes that enhance the spooky vibe of the game.

One of the game's intriguing features is its inclusion of video-real apparitions and ghostly guests. These entities are not just mere obstacles but are carriers of the mansion's dark past. Through their stories, players can gather clues and unravel the mysteries behind the heinous acts that transpired within the haunted walls.
