Kojima Productions' acclaimed game, Death Stranding Director's Cut, debuts on Xbox Series X|S with a significant launch discount, making its first-ever appearance on the platform.

Death Stranding Director's Cut Released on Xbox

In a surprising move, Kojima Productions has released Death Stranding Director's Cut on the Xbox Series X|S. This release marks the game's first appearance on an Xbox console. To celebrate this milestone, 505 Games, the publisher for this version, is offering a substantial 50% discount on the game for the first two weeks. Gamers can purchase it for $19.99 in the United States or £17.49 in the United Kingdom through the Microsoft Store.

Previously, in 2022, the PC version of Death Stranding was made available via Xbox Game Pass. However, at that time, there was no version specifically for Xbox consoles. Although the new Xbox Series X|S version is not included in the Game Pass library as of the launch, the temporary discount provides a great incentive for gamers to dive in.

The significance of this release is notable not only because of the game's previous unavailability on Xbox consoles but also due to Death Stranding’s unique gameplay and narrative experience, which was originally developed using the Decima Engine—an engine also used for other major titles like the Horizon series. Sony, who originally published Death Stranding, seems to have permitted 505 Games to handle the distribution of this special edition on Xbox platforms.
