The city builder game, Cities Skylines 2, allows players to create everything from skyscraping metropolises to serene village idylls.

Empower Your Imagination With Cities Skylines 2

Cities Skylines 2, the renowned city builder game, has a new twist – it gives players the liberty to construct not just bustling cities, but also serene villages or any other rural spaces. In an interview that recently featured in the PC Gamer Magazine, the CEO of the game's developer, Colossal Order, shared some insights about this innovative game that's about to hit the shelves.

Mariina Hallikainen stated that with Cities Skylines 2, an ambitious city plan isn't the only route. Yes, the game does offer larger-than-life maps that are reminiscent of some countries in terms of size, but Hallikainen reassured gamers that they needn't necessarily envision building the next grand metropolis. The developer's vision is inclusive of players who wish to manifest "more rural spaces" — the option to create a peaceful village or a small town is entirely up to the gamer.

She further explained, "When you are building the city, you don't necessarily have to think about a huge city. You can actually have these more rural spaces. It's completely up to you how you want to go about building the city and what the story for the city is." These words serve as a thrilling promise for gamers who can now focus on creating charming little villages instead of populous cities if they wish to do so. Furthermore, managing smaller, quaint towns as compared to bustling cities can provide an easier gaming experience, and potentially a relaxing one too.

While the anticipation of the game's release has been building up, the publisher, Paradox Interactive, has asked fans to brace themselves for a potentially turbulent commencement. This came as a response to the concern raised by fans last month about the game's performance, especially in light of the delay in the console release and the increased PC system requirements for Cities Skylines 2.

Despite the challenges, Paradox Interactive has decided to adhere to the original release date. The publisher stated this course of action as "the best way forward" for the "long-term of the project."

Cities Skylines 2 is set to launch on PC through Steam and Xbox Game Pass on October 24th, 2023. Gamers using PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will have to wait until the spring of 2024 for the game's console version to hit the market.

While waiting for Cities Skylines 2 to roll out, game aficionados might want to consider playing other city-building games to keep their creative juices flowing. The mix of tranquility and excitement offered by City Skylines 2 has the potential to revolutionize the gaming experience, and the players are all set for this immersive journey. Indeed, the game promises to offer an engaging escape to all kinds of gamers, whether they fancy painting the town red or prefer the calmer hues of the countryside.
