A surprising return in the post-credits scene of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon sets up the upcoming season 2, hinting at new possibilities for the main character.

Familiar Face Returns in Walking Dead's Post-Credit Scene

The first season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon has concluded, marking the end of survivor Daryl's time in France. After an arduous journey from Marseille to Mont Saint Michel, Daryl (played by Norman Reedus), contemplates his grandfather's time in Normandy during the Second World War. A boat sighting and a smirk on his face suggests Daryl is concocting a plan to return to the United States; a move that is further substantiated by the show's post-credits scene.

In the post-credits sequence, viewers are reunited with a familiar face — Melissa McBride's character, Carol Peletier. Despite being obviously in the US, Carol is seen in hot pursuit of a man riding a motorcycle. After an intense chase ending with Carol intercepting the man, she reveals her quest for her friend, Daryl Dixon. The man denies knowing any Dixon, and when accused of riding Daryl's bike, he claims to have found it. This encounter ends in a tense standoff where Carol coerces the man into revealing where he got the bike, promising grave consequences, should he be lying.

AMC confirmed earlier this week that Melissa McBride will be a regular in Season 2 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. McBride was initially associated with Season 1 but had to drop out due to overseas filming. Her return to the next season might indicate a shift in shooting locations.

Episode 5 shows that Daryl was in Maine before being smuggled to France on the Pouvoir du Vivant ship by a cruel group of herders. These herders were later revealed to be working with villain Genet (played by Anne Charrier), gathering walkers for her illicit scientific study on the Wildfire Virus.

Quinn (played by Adam Nagaitis), Laurent's father and Isabelle's ex-lover, succumbs to a walker bite in the final episode of the season. On the other hand, antagonist Genet is still alive, which suggests she still has a part to play in the storyline. This also implies the Pouvoir du Vivant ship might continue its trips between the US and France, providing a way for Genet to retain her role in the story.

Season 1 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon has left fans eagerly waiting for its second season, with the cliffhanger promising more adventures to come. The show is currently available for streaming on AMC+.
