Each level in VindicatorsE has a key that unlocks a door at the top of the level. This door leads the player either to the next level or to a special hub filled with multiple powerups. However, to escape the hub, players must do so within a time limit of 10 seconds. Failing to escape in time results in the tank losing half of its fuel. Once players successfully escape the hub, they proceed to the next station.
Boss battles add an extra layer of excitement and challenge to VindicatorsE. To defeat bosses, players need to strategically time their attacks. Normal shots are ineffective against bosses, so players must purchase sub-weapons, such as smart shots and bombs, to increase their chances of victory. After defeating a boss, players can continue their journey to the end of the level.
Between levels, players are taken to a shop where they can use stars earned in the game to purchase items and upgrades for their tanks. These upgrades include enhancements to tank speed, power, and more. The shop also provides an opportunity to repair any damage caused to the player's tank. By purchasing shields, players can drastically reduce the damage taken, protecting their tank from destruction and ensuring a longer-lasting gameplay experience.
However, the fuel gauge remains a constant concern in VindicatorsE. When the fuel depletes, the tank's speed is reduced, and a countdown begins from 10. Players must acquire more fuel before the timer reaches zero to keep their tank operational. If the tank runs out of fuel or if the player is shot during the countdown, the tank explodes, and a life is lost.
The arcade version of VindicatorsE featured special two-joystick controls for each player, providing a unique and immersive gaming experience. It also included three special contest levels, each containing a contest star. By collecting all three contest stars and nine normal stars, players could participate in a time-limited contest level, where they had the chance to win a T-shirt as a reward for their skills and achievements. However, a later version of the game removed the contest levels and stars, focusing solely on the intense tank battles and progression through challenging levels.
