Join Ryuhi in his quest to retrieve the stolen Secret Scrolls

In the mysterious landscapes of China, a young boy named Ryuhi was raised on the high mountain tops under the guidance of his wise teacher, Juan. Through years of dedicated training, Ryuhi became a master of Kempo, a martial art form. However, tragedy struck when Juan was viciously attacked and robbed of the Secret Scrolls of Hiryu-no-Ken, an ancient collection he had authored.

Out of all the scrolls, Ryuhi possessed the 6th volume known as the Shingan No Sho, also known as the Book of the Mind's Eye. This particular volume was saved by Juan, who entrusted Ryuhi with the task of delivering it to Shorinji, a sacred place. With his teacher's dying request in mind, Ryuhi embarked on a perilous journey.

Upon arriving at Shorinji, Ryuhi was warmly welcomed by Gengai, the bishop of the temple. Gengai recognized Ryuhi's potential and took him under his wing, initiating his training in Shorinji Kempo. Six years passed, and Ryuhi's skills flourished under Gengai's guidance.

However, their peaceful existence was disrupted when they received an unexpected letter from the Tusk Soldiers, a mysterious organization that harbored ill intentions towards Shorinji. The letter contained a challenge, summoning Ryuhi and the disciples of Shorinji to participate in the upcoming "World Tournament of Contact Sports."

Motivated by his desire to prevent the Tusk Soldiers from claiming victory at the tournament, Ryuhi made the decision to represent Shorinji in the competition. It was revealed to him by Gengai that the Tusk Soldiers were the ones responsible for the attack on Juan and the theft of the Secret Scrolls, further fueling Ryuhi's determination.

Flying Dragon: The Secret Scroll offers two different types of gameplay. The journey levels present side-scrolling challenges where Ryuhi must navigate through perilous landscapes, defeating five powerful bosses and collecting essential items crucial to his mission. These items include fragments of the Secret Scrolls.

The tournament levels, reminiscent of the first game in the series, Shanghai Kid, provide Ryuhi with the opportunity to engage in one-on-one battles against his enemies. These intense combat encounters will test Ryuhi's skills and determination as he strives to achieve victory and thwart the plans of the Tusk Soldiers.

To uncover the true ending of the game, players must complete it twice. During the first playthrough, all six scrolls must be collected to achieve the first ending. However, in the second playthrough, players must collect all six scrolls again, along with four crystal balls that are only found in the second quest. Missing even one of these items will prevent players from unlocking the true ending of the game.

Join Ryuhi in his quest to retrieve the stolen Secret Scrolls and unravel the mysteries of the Tusk Soldiers. Engage in epic battles, explore vibrant landscapes, and master the art of Shorinji Kempo in Flying Dragon: The Secret Scroll, a classic NES game that promises an unforgettable adventure.
